CNN U.S. launched 36 years back on June 1, 1980 is the original channel that serves as parent network to CNN International (CNNI), CNN News-19, CNN-News 18, CNN en Español, CNN Arabic, HLN and others held by Turner Broadcasting System, a subsidiary of Time Warner. The domestic channel until April 2016 was recognized as a national news TV of the Cable News Network. However, it now maintains its status as a 24-hour global multiplatform network. The network upon its first air date was seen as the first all-news TV in States. Mainly the content is produced and aired from the Washington, D.C. and Los Angeles studios alongside Time Warner Center in NYC, however, the weekend programming comes from CNN Center in Atlanta which also serves as headquarters to it. CNN Domestic as of February 2015 is available in 82.7% U.S. households owning at least one TV set with Cable, Satellite or telco television connections. CNN Sans in April 2016 became the new corporate type face of the logo used by network. The company in August 2016 decided to launch CNN AIR (CNN Aerial Imagery and Reporting), a new initiative that can be described as a drone-based news gathering service with aerial imagery.

Upon its launch on June 1, 1980, after a brief intro by Ted Turner, the real life couple David Walker and Lois Hart co-anchored the first newscast at the studios. Bernard Shaw was the first news anchor to serve at the CNN. Burt Reinhardt became the first executive vice president and staffed more than over 200 employees for the newly born news network. The channel over the years has expanded into a widespread network with a number of siblings, affiliates, specialized circuit-channels, international centers and bureaus. Today the mainstream news and current affairs brand owns more than 36 bureaus and over 900 local affiliates. It also provides the content to its various affiliate stations through CNN Newsource, a newswire service owned by the network. A number of foreign versions of the channel are also available across different regions around the world. The founder Ted Turner after the commercial success of the English news media was able to acquire Turner Broadcasting System in 1996 which is now a division of Time Warner. In January 1982 a sister CNN2 was launched primarily to propagate 30-minute news bulletins. CNN2 was later renamed as CNN2. CNN.com launched on August 30, 1995 on experimental basis is the top-rated online news portal and consistently ranks as among three most visited news sites in terms of unique users. CNN iReport, RSS feeds, Podcasts, CNN Pulse, a new version of CNN.com coming up with Signup page for the visitors, and different blogs i.e. Eatocracy, The Chart are some of the lately taken initiatives. The major events covered by the Cable News Network include Challenger disaster, Baby Jessica rescue, Gulf war, September 11 attacks, 2008, 2012 and 2016 United States Elections and of course the victory of Donald Trump – sadly. Of the many controversies since the establishment of the station, the endorsing and backing of Hillary Clinton and taking sides with democratic establishment in United States Presidential Election 2016 comes as the latest one. Being greatly unfair with Bernie Sanders during the First Democratic Party Presidential Debate, the carelessness shown in making of the headline comparing black voters and felons in August 2016 and an off camera Joke about the crash of Trump’s plane thrown by a producer at the channel added to the grey sides and notoriety of the media house.

Audiences can watch CNN USA Online with latest national and international top stories, current affairs programs, videos and more on a variety of subjects and issues. You may also connect with the station via social media platforms of Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Here is the website: achroma
